Dr. Ian Patrick Sobieski 

Founder and managing director of the Band of Angels Fund, the Silicon Valley's oldest seed funding organization. The Band had more than 120 former and current high tech executives, has invested approximately $180M of capital into 200+ startup companies in the Silicon Valley creating more than 3,000 jobs. Dr. Sobieski has been a founding partner in three venture funds totaling $65M in capital. He has managed more than fifty direct investments totaling fifty million dollars and has served on twenty boards of directors.
 
M. Jacques Bernier 
 
Managing partner of Teralys Capital, he is a highly respected venture capitalist, entrepreneur and investor who’s helped shape the Canadian technological innovation scene. . Through a 30 year career of contributions to the high-tech community, he has been actively involved in more than a dozen emerging high-tech companies as Founder/CEO or angel investor as well as Senior Vice-President of the Solidarity Fund QFL.

  • Following Capital Innovation 2008, 2 out of 3 companies signed agreements with angel investors and specialized funds;

2009 Edition:

  • Close to one hundred participants, including 38 investors;
  • Finalists obtained meetings with, on average, 3 investors
