Training

The finalists will benefit from a mandatory training to perfect the quality of their presentations and maximize the success rate of investments.

The training will be delivered by an expert, specialized in the financing and development of high-tech companies, as well as invited trainers for specific themes.

Training program:

  • Introduction and presentation of the steps required to obtain investment
  • Three half days of training:
    • How to present to investors? Prepare an elevator pitch
    • Getting to know investors, angels and venture capitalists:
      What is the key content?
    • What are their criteria? What do they expect?
    • Executive brief and targeted business plan
    • Project, financial packages and predictions
    • Prepare the relationship with investors
  • A presentation to the Advisory Committee followed by comments and discussions on the quality of the content
  • Individual follow-ups by the teams supporting the training

2008 Edition:

  • Investments of close to $4M in companies at the pre-startup and startup phases;
  • Following Capital Innovation 2008, 2 out of 3 companies signed agreements with angel investors and specialized funds;

2009 Edition:

  • Close to one hundred participants, including 38 investors;
  • Finalists obtained meetings with, on average, 3 investors
