Projects are evaluated by the Advisory Committee based on the following criteria:
- A high-tech company
- The feasability of the business plan and financial forecast
- The market penetration, business potential and business opportunity
- The value of the technological innovations and the benefits they provide
- The expertise of the project’s promoters
- The potential return for investors
Other criteria:
- Having submitted a complete application form for evaluation
- The company’s headquarters must be in the province of Québec
- An ambitious and dynamic team of promoters
The selection is made by the Advisory Committee made up of professional investors specialized in high-tech businesses as well as leading entrepreneurs.
RESULTS FROM
PREVIOUS EDITIONS
2008 Edition:
- Investments of close to $4M in companies at the pre-startup and startup phases;
- Following Capital Innovation 2008, 2 out of 3 companies signed agreements with angel investors and specialized funds;
2009 Edition:
- Close to one hundred participants, including 38 investors;
- Finalists obtained meetings with, on average, 3 investors
